Recently, the Pull Test of JBT Tee Head Bollard supplied by JIER Marine was completed. The test was performed by a third-party professional laboratory and witnessed by Bureau Veritas. The owner and contractor representative team were very satisfied with the test results.
JIER Marine specializes in the production of marine rubber fender system and mooring bollard system that meet the international standards. The bollards tested, JBT150, Tee Head Bollard with SWL 150ton, were designed and produced by JIER Marine for European customer. The streamlined design of the bollard body is highly in compliance with the common requirements of European projects. The footprint of Tee Head Bollard is small and it’s easy to install it. What’s more, its design safety factor is 3, all the test data complies with BS 6349-4:2014 standard.
JIER Marine performed all the inspections with a professional third-party laboratory. The tests included the physical performance test, chemical properties test, pull test, etc. The physical test was conducted according to ASTM A536-84 Grade 80-55-06 which equals to GB/T 1348-2019 QT600-3, including tensile strength test, yield strength test, elongation at break test, dimension inspection, painting thickness inspection and so on. These Tee Head Bollards for this project were painted with Interzone 954 International Brand Paint for anti-corrosion to comply with ISO 12944-5 C5-M Standard. Their yellow surface is the safe color for marine system and it can well adapt to the marine corrosion environment C5-M standard. All the accessories are Grade 8.8 HDG, the nominal tensile strength can reach more than 800MPa. With the witness of BV inspector, all the Tee Head Bollards were passed the tests and all tests data are in line with ASTM A536-84 international standard.

After the material inspection, the BV inspector witnessed the pull test of the Tee Head Bollard, which was the most important part of all tests. The inspectors of JIER Marine prepared all test equipment and fixed the bollards before the test. According to BS 6349-4:2014 and the requirements of the owner and contractor representative team, our inspectors performed the pull test with a horizontal tension of 1.33 times up to 200 tons, and the load was kept for 5 minutes after the test. After the pull test, the BV inspector examined the appearance of Tee Head Bollard and made sure that there was no crack. The test results proved that the bollards produced by JIER Marine not only accord with the requirements of customers, but also conform to international standards.
The pull test of mooring bollards can be conducted with different angles, such as 30 degrees, 50 degrees, 75degrees, according to customer requirements. In addition, the multiples of pull test can also be different: 1.2 times, 1.5 times, 2 times etc. JIER Marine has competitive capability of production and has the ability to perform diverse inspections or tests. By establishing cooperation with some third-party professional testing institutions, JIER Marine shows the attitudes of being responsible for customers and ensuring product quality, so that all works can be completed in a satisfactory manner in compliance with end user.
