Recently, JIER Marine won the bid for SLPA East Container Terminal Port of Colombo Phase II Project.
The project owner is Sri Lanka Port Authority and the EPC contractor is China Harbour Engineering Company / CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. JIER Marine supplied JSC1700H Super Cell Fender System with 1700H and JBT200 Cast Iron Tee Head Bollard for this project.
Importance of The Project
Sri Lankan East Container Terminal Port is located in Colombo. This port construction is part of the Sri Lankan government's Colombo Port expansion plan. Upon completion of the plan, the Sri Lankan East Terminal, together with the South Terminal and the West Terminal, will greatly enhance the cargo capacity of the Port of Colombo, which will significantly increase the container handling capacity of the Port of Colombo from the current more than 4 million TEU per year to 12 million TEU, making it one of the world's largest container terminals.
Technical Strength
JIER Marine technical team studied carefully the technical specifications with the technical strength and did a great number of calculations, provided a customized berthing and mooring solution to the owner and contractor, which helped them reduced the project cost.
JSC1700H Super Cell Fender System
JSC1700H Super Cell Fender is a kind of big cell fender, the single weight of the fender body can be over 3.7tons. Bureau Veritas performed and witnessed all inspections for the JSC1700H Super Cell Fender System, including the visual inspection and dimension inspection of fender and accessories, fender compression test, material property test for rubber material, etc. According to the inspection results, JSC1700H Super Cell Fenders for this project, both the rubber material and the fender performance meet with the project requirement and the international standard PIANC 2002.
JBT200 Cast Iron Tee Head Bollard
The design of the bollard in this project is different from JIER Marine standard design. However, JIER Marine has strong designing and production capacity that can design and produce any type of bollards. JIER Marine produced the JBT200 Cast Iron Tee Head Bollard according to the project drawing. The BV inspection proves that all dimensions, painting thickness and the chemical composition analysis of cast iron material are complying with the project requirements and the European standard EN 1563:2018 along with BS 6349-4:2014.
